What I did

Inkstich

I chose Embroidery. The machine is a Brother. Model: NV870SE and the software I used for it was Inscape.

First I downloaded the extension Inkstich for Inkscape here: LINK to Inkstich extension

Once installed I opened the Inkstich editor: lettering.

In the editor I could choose font, write the text and apply it

While doing that a live-preview of the job showed up in a seperate window:

When done with the design I saved it as a *pes file so the Embroidery machine could read it.

Here are the original files

I saved it on a USB stick and inserted it in the Embroidery machine. But first I had to prepare a piece of cloth in a holder so it could be stretched out and the machine had a nice and even surface to stitch on.

Holder

When ready I inserted it in the slider to left of the machine Then I had to thread the needle. It was a bit complicated, but if you follow the numbers (7 steps all in all) you are all right.

Then you are ready. Navigate to your file on the USB stick. First press the symbol for USB and then press on your file.
